BIOGRAPHY

Mike has loved old maps and atlases since childhood and has an extensive collection in his studio which he uses for reference
and inspiration in painting his own maps. He has been an illustrator and a graphic designer since 1972.
His background in fine arts influenced his approach to the very specialized field of map illustration.
He brings to it geographical accuracy and poetic licence.
His impressive client list is a compliment to his talent, originality, communication skills and reliability.
He graduated from the University of Arkansas with an MFA in painting. His fine art has been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the US.
Mike lives in the mountains near Asheville, North Carolina with his wife Christine and their cat Misty. They have four sons.
When not painting, Mike enjoys fly fishing, hiking and camping in the mountains near his home.
He has just finished writing his first novel, "Black Ridge".
